Crisil - Taxonomist

Job Overview:

- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Taxonomist to join our team.

- The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining taxonomies that enhance our data organization and retrieval processes.

- This role requires a strong understanding of data classification, metadata management, information architecture and Semantic Web Technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain taxonomies and classification systems to improve data organization.

- Collaborate with cross-domain teams to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and best practices for Taxonomy and Ontology development.

- Conduct regular audits of existing taxonomies to ensure relevance and accuracy.

- Implement best practices for data management, metadata management, and data governance.

- Provide training and support to team members on taxonomy usage and best practices.

- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in taxonomy and data management.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in taxonomy development and maintenance, metadata management, or information architecture and Semantic Web Technologies (RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL)

- Experience working with relational database, Graph database and knowledge about Python Programming Language.

- A thorough knowledge of FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) data principles.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with Semantic data Modelling tools like TopBraid EDG, Graphwise, GraphDB, Protg.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Educational Qualification : Bachelors/Masters degree in information science, Library Science, Data Science, or a related field
