Role summary : We are hiring for the post of Senior Research Analyst in Industry Research team for Energy Sector

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Ability to promptly assess changes in the energy value chain including renewables, thermal, discoms and transmission and ability to foresee trends and inter-linkages with the macro economy

- Track and understand implication of regulatory changes in the sector

- Analyse industry dynamics from all relevant angles (demand-supply, price movement, profitability, changing regulatory and competitive landscape)

- Ability to forecast and provide outlook on above key parameters

- Frame and maintain demand forecasting models, energy transition models based on qualitative and, when appropriate, statistical analysis

- Flair to get market intelligence and skill to sense business and commercial insights

- Ability to form hypothesis, validate assumptions, test based on data gathered and write a cogent and logical report

- Ability to do financial assessments

- Author and publish articles to showcase thought-leadership and build franchise for the business

- Support to Associate Director/Director in making presentations to clients and at seminars/conferences

- Deliver presentations to clients and internal committees

Experience: 2-4 years

Qualification: MBA (Finance) from Tier I/II Institute / CA

Skills:

- Strong understanding of the dynamics of the energy value chain.

- Drive to understanding new emerging technologies and their implications on tariffs, investment pick up and linked trends

- Strong understanding of the power value chain and connect with discoms and key stakeholders in the sector

- Ability to understand the impact of regulatory, policy and structural changes impacting the power sector

- Ability to think out of the box and come out with innovative solutions/ideas

- Ability to structure and write high-quality reports

- Strong presentation and excel skills

- Understanding of basic statistical techniques

- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills

- Positive attitude and ability to work across teams within tight deadlines
