Research Manager
Job Description
- Research Manager plays a critical role in leading and managing research projects and teams. As a senior member of the research group, this position will provide day-to-day direction to research analysts /senior research analysts engaged on a range of projects and assignments and will work to develop and maintain dedicated client relationships as required.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Lead multiple research projects and client assignments ensuring appropriate workflow planning, resource utilization, and quality assurance
- Guide team problem solving, the development of research strategies, the application of analytical techniques and frameworks, and the creation of research end-products
- Recruit, train, coach and develop research analysts
- Develop, maintain and foster client relationships as necessary
- Complete research, including data gathering and analysis, when appropriate
- Contribute to the efforts to create a world-class research infrastructure
- Lead and/or complete ad hoc research, knowledge building and business development initiatives
Experience:
- 7-9 years’ experience (minimum) in the Telecom/IT and or research/consulting industry.
- Knowledge of research databases would be extremely handy
- Good domain expertise in any of the following areas i.e. Managed IPT, Data centre, hosting, Security, Voice convergence, Network services, Converged LAN, CRM, UCC, Cloud computing etc. (Knowledge in more than one of these areas would be an added advantage)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong client management skills
- Ability to execute and lead business analysis projects autonomously. Having a knack to organize, analyze, synthesize and/or summarize data and information using appropriate analytical methodologies and frameworks
- Expertise in MS Excel and Power Point
- Excellent analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
- Capable of handling multiple mission-critical projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality or impacting deadlines
- Experience working in a strategic analysis capacity, which must be in a Global ICT environment
- Any experience in the global ICT sales and/or marketing exposure, giving the role holder a good understanding of the commercial aspects of our business will be an added plus (not a must requirement)
- Strong business acumen, commercial skills and exposure to the sales cycle
- Strong analytical & communications skills, with the ability and confidence to present, defend and enhance lines of thought
- Experience of working in both real and virtual teams
- Good general knowledge of markets, technology and business drivers, with a clear understanding of stakeholder requirements;
Skills:
- Strategic, tactical and lateral thinking, with a proven track record of delivering strategic analysis in a highly marketing/sales orientated environment
- Excel and data manipulation skills
- Ability to generate strategic insight and analysis and present that in a compelling and actionable manner to colleagues of varying seniority
