Background
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities would be as follows:
- Develop & Mature CRISIL Platforms
- Responsible to manage product roadmaps for Crisil Platforms
- Individual will be responsible for Platform maturity and ensuring that platform teams are aligned towards common organisational goals
Develop and Maintain Architecture Standards:
- Define enterprise architecture strategies and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) to guide technology solutions for both internal teams and client engagements.
- Ensure consistency in the architecture approach across various projects, including managed services and staff augmentation engagements.
- Lead architectural governance, ensuring that all solutions align with clients' long-term strategic goals and technical standards.
Client Engagement & Advisory:
- Act as the primary technical advisor to clients, understanding their business needs, defining architecture roadmaps, and ensuring the alignment of technical solutions to meet those needs.
- Lead architecture reviews for key projects and ensure the enterprise architecture aligns with each client's future-state business goals.
- Advise clients on emerging technology trends, cloud adoption, and digital transformation, tailoring solutions to their unique business contexts
Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
- Stay ahead of industry trends (cloud computing, AI, ML, IoT, blockchain) and integrate relevant technologies into both internal and client architectures.
- Drive innovation within the firm, identifying opportunities to modernize legacy systems and processes for clients through scalable, forward-looking architectural solutions.
Technology Strategy and Roadmap:
- Collaborate with business and IT leadership to create multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Assess current technology landscape and develop modernization plans for legacy systems
- Promote cloud-first and hybrid technology strategies where appropriate, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish processes and KPIs to track the performance of delivery teams, ensuring alignment with both internal goals and client expectations.
- Continually optimize delivery practices to improve resource utilization, reduce costs, and enhance the client experience.
- Ensure that COE teams are delivering value esp. incase of staff augmentation initiatives
- Partner with HR and recruitment teams to attract, develop, and retain top technical talent for both managed projects and staff augmentation needs.
- Align with the executive team on growth strategies, ensuring delivery and architecture practices support the firm's business objectives
Pre-Sales Support:
- Collaborate with business development and account teams to design solution architecture proposals, present technical solutions to prospective clients, and support contract negotiations.
- Assist in crafting RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, statements of work (SOWs), and other documentation related to project scoping and technical architecture
Delivery Leadership:
- Lead and manage the delivery of large-scale, complex IT initiatives from inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with Program/Project Management teams to ensure projects are delivered on time,within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Ensure that both staff augmentation resources and project teams are aligned with the clients' objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that could impact project delivery.
- Ensure Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery practices are implemented effectively
Resource Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of enterprise architects and delivery specialists (COE).
- Develop talent, manage performance, and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to attract, develop, and retain top talent in architecture and delivery roles.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and delivery strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on the implications of architectural and technical decisions.
Executive Communication:
- Present architecture strategies and delivery progress to C-suite executives, ensuring clarity on the benefits, risks, and trade-offs of technology investments.
- Provide regular updates on project health, architecture maturity, and strategic initiatives.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Application Skills:
- Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or later) and Java-based technologies such as Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, etc.
- Knowledge of Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Play Framework, etc.
- Experience with Java-based build tools such as Maven, Gradle, etc.
Architecture and Design:
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and principles (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture, etc.)
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance Java- based systems -Apache Camel, MuleSoft, etc.
Cloud and Containerization:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as serverless computing,
Data engineering Skills:
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, and data security
- Experience with designing and implementing data architectures, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data pipelines
- Experience with Apache Spark SQL
- Experience with ETL & Compute tools
- Experience with designing and implementing data integration pipelines
- Familiarity with big data technologies, data cataloging and metadata management
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with distributed file systems
- Experience with data analytics and machine learning frameworks
- Fair understanding of Gen AI Frameworks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT solutions across a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Solid experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Certifications: TOGAF, ITIL,
Soft Skills: Strategic Thinking: Ability to align architecture with business objectives and long-term organizational strategies.
Client Engagement: Strong communication skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients and articulate complex technical solutions.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of cloud architecture, modern software development practices, and emerging technologies.

Educational Qualification - Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A masters degree is preferred.
