CRISIL - Credit Research Analyst - Global Banks/Financial Institutions

Responsibilities :

- Work with a team of Portfolio Managers covering Banks, especially the European Banks

- Preparing opinion based credit reports and updates based on fundamental analysis for a set of assigned credits/banks

- Preparing/ Updating credit models including peer analysis, relative value analysis and calculations of key credit quality determinants

- Strong understanding of fundamental credit analysis with an ability to identify bonds and recommend and communicate buy/sell/hold investment recommendations

- Good understanding of current trends and the regulations impacting the European Banking sector

- Ability to assign internal rating to the banks covered

- Regular surveillance of assigned portfolio by proactively tracking the events (including quarterly earnings), peer group and other industry information sources

- Support the client with any other ad-hoc research requests

- Engage with client teams proactively and suggest new ideas to enhance client engagement

- Establish and maintain consistent standards and processes in credit analysis through interaction with sector specialists and senior analysts

- Assist managers/ADs/Director on account level initiatives, pilot assignments, prepare collaterals and farming activities

- Responsible for client and project management, need-based trainings, process initiatives and quality improvements of the team

- Support in content review, mentor and train new hires in the division

Education : MBA/CA/US CFA with around 5+ years of experience

Experience : As mentioned above

Certifications : MBA/CA/US CFA

Core Skills : At least 5 years of experience in the Credit domain having experience in covering Banks (European banks will be added advantage)

- Credit Report writing and financial modeling experience

- Excellent understanding of financial statements and current regulatory trends

- Experience in delivery of structured solutions to clients

- In-depth understanding of the industry dynamics

Other : Business/Industry knowledge/competencies:

- Good understanding of local and global financial markets and trends

- Working knowledge on Bloomberg and Reuters is preferred
