Job Duties :
- In this role, the candidate would be part of the Operations Business Architecture function operating as a business analyst for a global investment bank.
- The role involves contributing to the development of the defined target state for Global Operations and working with key projects to ensure progress towards that target.
The role involves :
- Determining the target state process,controls models and the target operating model
- Enhancement of design principles and design control reviews of change programs that affect processes, systems and data.
- Design issue resolution as raised by change programs or relevant Design Authority forums.
- Prepare and deliver content for relevant Design Authority forums.
- Definition of business requirements arising from the TOM and collaboration with Operations IT Architects to ensure that the Operations Target IT Model (TIM) supports these.
- Definition of the detailed strategy to implement the TOM and TIM in collaboration with Operations IT Architects.
- Prepare and deliver training/communications material on Operations TOM and TIM to support training/communication strategy and plan.
Qualification :
- Post graduate degree from a reputed institute
- Business Analysis/Project Management Certifications
Skills Required :
- Good competency in business requirements gathering, solution design, planning, and implementation preferably in large scale global programs (preferably from an Investment Bank or consultancy background)
- Familiarity with IB products, Front and Middle Office trade operations, end-to-end trade life-cycle
- Good analytical and problem solving skills along with good verbal and written communication skills including requirements definition, for business and IT audience
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated team player, ownership, accountability, organizational/prioritization skills, proactive, ability to multitask, ambitious, independent, positive mind-set
- Should have good understanding and ability to conduct business rules analysis and building a prototype or use case if required.
- Hands-on experience to create data model, data flow diagram, architecture diagram, workflows and other use cases.
- Should have prior experience of Project planning, estimation, monitoring and tracking of the deliverables.
- Independent and able to work with little supervision
- Proven organizational, leadership and management skills
- Ability to direct project teams and to create agreement among differing stakeholder views - must be able to lead by example and motivate/ focus team members.
- Effective relationship management and influencing skills
- The candidate should be process oriented, have attention to detail, and have good time management skills
- Candidates with good knowledge about operations process including settlement, position-keeping, asset servicing, clearing, collateral management and liquidity management would be preferred
Candidate having experience in one or more of the below domains would be preferred :
Clearing & Collateral management and operations :
- Understanding about CSA terms, Margin calculation and settlement process
- ISDA/CSA Terms and related systems workflows. SSI with counterparties
- Margin call management and collateral interest settlements
- Exposure to portfolio reconciliation teams and dispute resolution teams
- Reporting including end of day processing reports, collateral fails, cash and security fails, disputed collaterals and calls not responded reports
- Working knowledge on TriOptima and Acadia soft is preferred
Settlement :
- End to end settlements workflow including but not limited to: Calculation of settlement amounts, determining fixings, independently evaluating the settlement amount and reconciling the same with front office numbers, anticipatory settlements work flow etc.
Position keeping :
- Monitoring and managing positions in ongoing basis. Providing regular updates of positions, profit and loss and risk figures across all products and instruments
- Reporting and MIS including open positions; risk positions of the same and threshold breaches
Liquidity management :
- Monitoring liquidity risks and ensuring it is in within prescribed thresholds
- Assess the need for cash or collateral to meet financial obligations for various time periods
- Good Knowledge about regulatory requirements around liquidity management for Banks
