About the Business
The division serves corporates, public sector companies, banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) & government agencies in India by evaluating their vendors, dealers, distributors, franchisees, loan borrowers and government subsidy beneficiaries. We play a key role in evaluating and benchmarking performance of dealers, vendors, customers, franchisees and partners of large corporates. Our evaluations facilitate a 360° insight into the financials, management capabilities and business risks of enterprises, which have helped them optimize and improve their operations. As a result, their profitability has improved and they have gained greater acceptability among customers, suppliers and investors.
Vendors, dealers, distributors and franchisees use our ratings to build confidence with their corporate principals, obtain better credit terms, and improve their business prospects. Enterprises also use CRISIL Ratings as a self-improvement tool and enhance their standing and prospects with stakeholders. The rating helps entities enhance their access to debt, equity and other structured funding options. Corporate principals use our evaluations to strengthen and expand their supply chains, extend credit, benchmark performance and to provide incentives. Lenders use our ratings or due diligence reports to benchmark credit quality and to supplement internal evaluation.
Your role as an Analyst:
- Dealer/Distributor/Franchisee evaluations: A 360° analysis of dealers, distributors’ or franchisees’ financial, management and business capabilities. This involves site visits, market enquiries and discussions with management and bankers.
- Compliance assessment of dealers and distributors: Our analysis helps corporates assess their dealers and distributors on their extent of compliance to company policies. This could be on manpower, processes, finance, infrastructure, and customer service. These also help corporates distribute incentives based on the extent of implementation of policies by dealers and distributors.
- Performance benchmarking of dealers and distributors: Performance benchmarks developed from an internal sample is used to compare and analyze performance of the entire dealer and distributors network of a corporate. The analysis helps enhance competitiveness of this network by identifying areas which need greater focus for performance improvement.
- Customized vendor evaluations: Our customized analysis of vendors offer insights into vital aspects, such as their margins, funding capabilities, customer profile, customer feedback, expansion plans, labour strengths, management vision and manufacturing facilities.
- Analysis of customers’ credit-worthiness: Our in-depth analysis of customers’ credit quality aids corporates in their credit decisions.
