Team introduction:

Ledger Control team is responsible for performing activities with respect to Suspense & Nostro monitoring and booking of month end journals with respect to Balance Sheet, Off Balance Sheet and PL activities. The team is also responsible for the centralised Account Ownership for the accounts under its purview.

General responsibilities:

- Depending on the sub-process mentioned below, the role entails effective communication with global teams.

- Having a basic understanding of accounting will help to a large extent for this role. He/She has the responsibility to ensure that tasks assigned are performed to the required standards and the issues are escalated appropriately.

- He/She should be a team player and possess an attitude to deliver beyond assigned responsibilities.

Detailed duties and responsibilities:

Suspense, Control and Account Ownership

- Monitoring and clearing of Suspense and Control Account balances on a monthly and / or daily basis for all entities (across 4 regions)

- Nostro Reconciliation for EMEA entities & matching in Intellimatch tool

- Substantiation of Balances under ownership as per the requirement of Operational Risk team

- Communicate with Operations and Product Control teams and other internal / external parties

- Regulatory reporting with respect to suspense balances

- Analyze month over month movement and provide commentary

- Primary contact for queries from Internal & External audit, SOX and ORC team

- Ensure that SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are developed and kept up to date for all processes

- Balances Sheet/Revenue and Expense Team/OBS Substantiation

- Have strong accounting and analytical skills and ensure that BAU tasks are completed in time

- Knowledge of USGAAP and IFRS accounting

- Responsible for preparation of KPI metrics for the reconciliation process to be submitted to senior stakeholders

- Responsible to liaise with different stakeholders to understand their data requirement and work towards meeting those requirements

- Responsible to post bank entries and prepare bank reconciliation for various bank accounts

- Preparation of journal entries for accruals, audit fees, management fees, performance fees etc.

- Preparation of journal entries relating to valuation of investments, loans.

- Reconciliation between ledger and fund accountant's balances

- Calculation of Performance and management fees for investments

- Require performing month on month variance analysis on PL & balance sheet.

- Responsible to prepare journals for off balance Sheet products like Repo, SLB, Cash collaterals

- Source to ledger reconciliation for off balance sheets accounts

- Liaising with SOX team and provide the required details to perform the SOX test every month.

- Ensure that SOPs (standard operating procedures) are developed and kept up to date for all processes
