JOB PURPOSE:
- Primary accountability for the definition, setup, and adherence to credit policies for SME lending products
- Focus on creating an industry-leading credit policy and digital onboarding/underwriting process to provide quick approval TAT for various SME loans with an eye on market and competition
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Credit decision making
- Build the new Credit function, including people, processes, policies, procedures, rules, models for the SME lending product
- Review credit strategies, products, policies and procedures on a regular basis, and recommend amendments to the Board
- Ensure clear communication and adherence of credit decisions to the sales network
- Liaise with Compliance and Legal departments to ensure all relevant regulatory and governance requirements are met
- Ensure implementation of learning and development programs for Credit Managers to institute culture of credit writing excellence, and for Sales team to ensure stringent sourcing
- Implement departmental policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/ regulatory requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service
- Analyze various portfolio trends and bureau data for future trends for effective decision making
- Effective interaction with business partners across functions including risk, technology, product management amongst others
Digital Credit Underwriting
- Ideate and help launch next-generation lending products and underwriting methods that will drive the next round of innovation and disruption within SME lending space
- Institute high degree of automation in credit decision process required in a digital lending platform, to achieve STP
Credit Monitoring & Communication and reporting
- Ownership of portfolio quality and performance by continuously monitoring portfolio health
- Work closely with CE for effective external communication and responding to any enquiries from RBI or any other regulatory / statutory body
- Setup a strong portfolio governance mechanism and periodically review the same.

- Minimum 6 years in finance industry with at least 6-8 years with proven track record of managing credit policies from design to implementation at senior management levels
