Credit Analyst - Risk Management & Collections

Responsibilities:

Credit Risk Assessment & Analysis:

Evaluate credit applications by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information.

Conduct thorough risk assessments to determine the creditworthiness of potential borrowers.

Set appropriate credit limits and terms based on a comprehensive risk analysis.

Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices in credit risk management.

Collections Management & Strategy:

Develop and implement effective collection strategies for delinquent accounts.

Analyze payment history and design collection plans for optimal recovery.

Communicate with customers professionally to establish workable payment arrangements.

Collaborate with collection agencies and legal teams as needed.

Monitor delinquent accounts and take timely action to recover outstanding debts.

Reporting & Process Improvement:

Prepare reports on credit applications, risk assessments, and collection activities.

Identify opportunities for process improvement in credit analysis and collections.

Provide recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the credit department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Minimum 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or a similar role.

Strong understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and credit scoring models.

Proven ability to analyze financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information.

Excellent knowledge of lending regulations and compliance standards (e. , Fair Credit Reporting Act).

Strong analytical and decision-making skills with sound judgment.

Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle delicate customer situations.

Proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.

Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Proficiency in MS Office and financial analysis software is a must.
