Must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or Master of Laws (LLM) degree from a U.S. law school - The candidate will be involved in analyzing and summarizing credit documentation and conducting research on legal issues (primarily in U.S. bankruptcy and securities law). The candidate will be responsible for monitoring trends and issues relating to credit, preparing concise summaries of company-specific nuances, and opining on their credit and process impact. - From time to time, the candidate will review term sheets and transactional documents relating to bankruptcy and workout situations. The candidate will work closely with front office analysts in assessing corporate credit quality and iterating on legal analysis and research in a timely manner. Additionally, the candidate will monitor companies under coverage for special events, court docket updates, and other material developments. - Other ad hoc projects will include legal benchmarking, overview of special situations, etc. Over time,these responsibilities will expand into legal analyst coverage along with providing due diligence insights to the front office team. - Have three to five years of relevant experience - Have excellent written and verbal communication skills - Preferably have exposure to high yield, stressed, and distressed credits - Preferably have experience in securities law, corporate finance, and restructuring at a global law firm
