Purpose of the department:
The Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) is a global function which works closely with Relationship Bankers (RBs) to help them prepare credit proposals for their GB&M borrowing names across the Corporate, FIG and Funds sectors. By closely managing the annual review work load and encouraging deep collaboration between CAU, RBs, Credit Risk, and Client Management, the Credit Analysis Unit maintains a flexible operating model ensuring new business transactions are consistently prioritized effectively to exploit revenue generation.
Role Purpose:
This role entails the need to possess notable skills in handling stakeholders and people. Equally, expertise of end-to-end credit processes, ability to articulate analytical views to the credit risk team, sound knowledge of the corporate sector, working knowledge of diverse systems and an eye for detail to ensure quality of output are also necessary. The capacity and the maturity to constantly guide and motivate team members as regards quality of submissions is a vital component of this role. Besides, there will be a need to share domain expertise with the team members to nurture their skills and demonstrate domain expertise.
Role Purpose:
Lead a region for the Corporate Sector by providing high-quality functional support to the stakeholders and the analytical community with the objective of achieving service excellence.
- Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with diverse stakeholders, manage day-to-day process, contribute to strategic initiatives and support Senior Management in implementing them.
- Subject Matter Expert: Play the role of a SME and drive a team of people with the aim of providing and nurturing subject expertise in sector, policy, and region-specific policies and procedures.
- Quality Control & Guidance: Provide guidance and governance around quality control to ensure high quality credit submissions.
- Resource Management: Optimally manage human resources; guide and mentor team members.
- Risk and Control: Foster a culture of compliance amongst the team and manage elements of Operational Risk.
Qualifications, Experience (Minimum requirements for the role)
- Minimum: Post Graduation in Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent such as a Chartered Accountant would be preferred.
- Candidate's current/past profiles should have involved extensive interactions with diverse stakeholders.
7 years of relevant work experience in Credit Analysis, Research, Corporate Banking backed by demonstrated analytical expertise and team management skills.
