Job Description
Requirement:
Significant experience in the field of advertising is required as the main function of a CD copy besides writing up a storm is the ability to guide and oversee the responsibilities of copywriters and other members of the creative team in developing advertisements.
Excellent communication and persuasion skill
Excellent grasp of grammar and the English language.
Excellent leadership skills
A strong understanding of brand development and multi channel marketing concepts
Comfort interacting with clients and internal staff alike
The ability to develop concepts and presentations with account managers especially for important meetings, particularly pitches.
Monitoring everyday workflow and the copy team schedules.
In addition to supervisory and management functions like training, hiring and evaluating creative staff, a CD copy also interacts with other agency departments to maintain communication and client satisfaction.
The CD copy needs to attend planning meetings and participates in presentations to agency staff and clients to decide the strategic and creative direction of an advertising campaign.
They also need to use their creative expertise to interpret a client's vision and make it a tangible and deliverable product. Besides the ability to write a CD copy need to understand strategy well.
Creative Director- Copy Job Duties:
- Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching copy employees.
- Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.
- Develops basic presentation approaches by reviewing materials and information presented by Account Management.
- Determines production requirements by reviewing client requirements; considering scheduling factors particularly for films and radio production.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; recommending changes to even art and certainly copy writing
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Develops marketing strategies by examining client objectives; planning, and completing advertising requirements.
- Improves results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing creative processes; implementing changes.
- Leads the team, developing creative guidelines and directing creative work, including print collateral, campaigns, television and radio advertising, and many related tasks.
Personal Note:
It's a dynamic job. One day you may be writing copy for the launch of a new campaign. The next, you can be standing beside the director's chair at a casting call. Thus, you- ll need to be an expert in all facets of the creative process - and the creative industry - in order to produce the best work.
The client is looking for a leader with the ability to maximize the talents of creative copy team. Doing so means being a coach, a teacher, an instructor, and a critic all at once. Creative director copy works with other copywriters, graphic designers, account managers and other marketers on a daily basis.
