Job Description :
Head of India Business Unit, reports to the President and is responsible for revenue and P&L for all business sectors in the country (India, Nepal and Bhutan). All the regional heads and Industry Managers report into this position. The company already has the leadership position in the India GIS software market with over 70% market share; has a solid customer base and has been growing very well. The range of offerings includes software licenses, cloud offering, maintenance, consulting and training services.
We focus on a wide range of industry verticals - National Security, National Mapping Agencies, Urban Development, Land records, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, Utilities & Telcos, and Commercial etc. Central and State government organizations form a very large part of our market. We address these markets through direct sales as well as indirect channels.
We are looking to bring-in a leader to spearhead our next phase of growth and bring-in the required creativity in the fast changing business environment. Described below are the job responsibilities:
Effectively lead and manage the rapid revenue growth of the business by :
- Building on its current strengths and improved operational and sales performance.
- Improve the Company's position in its traditional markets.
- Expand the Company's presence in new markets.
- Respond to emerging customer requirements and growth opportunities in the marketplace.
- Maintain and grow our leadership position as the #1 GIS software company.
- Develop and expand working/strategic relationship with current key clients and partners.
- Play a key role in the strategic leadership, growth, management of the company. More specifically:
Strategy :
- Take responsibility for the strategy for Software Product Business in conjunction with the leadership and management team which consists of the leaders of technical support, professional services and marketing.
- Implement the business strategy; ensure that business plans and operational activities and processes are in line with the overall strategy.
- Interface with relevant people to roll out various business programs and oversee business operations.
Leadership :
- Provide vision and direction to the sales team in meeting the goals and sales budgets.
- Provide thought leadership to expand our presence in the existing markets and plan entry/expansion into the new markets through a team of Industry Managers.
- Foster a dynamic, customer/market driven, and performance oriented business culture.
Growth :
- Grow product sales and services revenues in-line with the growth objectives of the company.
- Lead the definition of account strategies and milestones, including prioritizing activities and driving large deals.
- Build a solid customer base with new accounts and strong client relationship to ensure continuous revenue growth.
Job Requirements :
- BE, B. Tech, MBA or equivalent degree from a reputed institute.
- 20+ years of sales experience in the IT industry, minimum 7 years in a similar leadership position. A strong background in software product sales will be important.
- Should have managed all India teams of sales, marketing and channel managers. Should be hand-on with a very high ability to lead the team from the front.
- Excellent time management skills. Ability to take ownership. Good analytical capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Success Factors include Business Acumen; Directing Others; Hiring and Staffing; Planning; Action Oriented; Dealing with Ambiguity; Risk taking.
- The position requires substantial travel within India.
