Country Managing Director - IT

InCommon is hiring on behalf of a European technology company expanding operations to India with a focus on building a high-performing technical center of excellence.

Our team delivers innovative e-commerce and Java full-stack solutions using agile methodologies, maintaining close collaboration between our European and Indian operations.

About the Role:

- We are seeking an experienced Managing Director to establish and oversee our India operations.

- This role requires a strategic leader with a strong operational and technical background to manage key business functions, ensure profitability, and drive seamless collaboration with our European teams.

- As the India MD, you will be responsible for leading the regional strategy, managing resources, and ensuring compliance across finance, legal, and business operations.

- You will play a critical role in stakeholder negotiations and align local operations with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

- Oversee day-to-day business operations, including financial performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and conflict resolution.

- Drive profitability and operational excellence across all functions.

- Establish and maintain efficient operational processes and workflows.

Resource & Talent Management:

- Lead hiring processes and ensure optimal resource allocation to support business growth.

- Build and scale a technical team of 20-30 members by the end of 2025.

- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies focusing on senior developers and other technical roles.

Strategic Collaboration:

- Work closely with European leadership teams to align delivery goals and operational strategies.

- Participate in a 2-week onboarding program in Germany to understand company culture and meet key stakeholders.

- Ensure seamless integration between Indian and European teams on project delivery.

Finance, Legal & Compliance:

- Ensure all financial, legal, and regulatory operations are compliant with Indian and international laws.

- Manage office setup and infrastructure within established budgets.

- Oversee financial planning and reporting for the India operations.

Stakeholder Management:

- Lead high-level negotiations and decision-making processes with internal and external stakeholders.

- Represent the company in business discussions and partnership opportunities.

- Build and maintain productive relationships with key partners and clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Background:

- MBA or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a strong understanding of both technology and management.

- Technical background with experience building or managing Global Capability Centers (GCCs) is essential.

- Deep understanding of software development processes and technologies, particularly Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Angular, and VueJS.

Professional Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in technology or operations management.

- Proven experience in overseeing large-scale projects and optimizing team operations.

- Demonstrated success in scaling tech teams and operations in India.

- Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.

Leadership & Skills:

- Directive leadership style with clear decision-making abilities.

- Strong project management skills with experience in agile methodologies.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

- Ability to identify market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.

- Financial acumen to manage budgets and drive profitability.
