Country Manager India ( for a US Based IT Setup) (14-22 yrs)
Position Summary :
The Country Manager will lead and direct India Operations, supporting the President in developing and executing company's business plan. The Country Manager will have responsibility for Product Development, Professional Services Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technical Publications, Information Technology (IT), Facilities and Real Estate, Human Resources, Accounting and Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with USA Corporate Team on the development of corporate and product strategy, goals, priorities, plans, and budgets. Communicate the big picture to everyone at India so that the team is aligned and energized.
- In collaboration with USA Corporate Office and India leadership team, establish goals for each of your departments, direct your staff's actions to meet or exceed their goals, and report regularly on accomplishments vs goals to the US Corporate Office.
- Provide operational leadership and assume full responsibility for all India-based software development. Deliver high- quality, performant software in a timely manner per plans.
- Develop strong teams and organizations. Hire excellent staff. Institute effective training and talent development programs. Encourage a collaborative culture that is results focused. Recognize and reward excellence throughout India Operations. Achieve high levels of employee morale. Minimize unwanted employee turnover.
- Continuously seek to improve productivity. Hold retrospectives frequently to identify what is working well and what needs improvement. Ensure appropriate actions are taken to address issues and improve results. Lead India Operations & adoption of software development best practices and demonstrate process improvements.
- Create an excellent working environment that facilitates productive work through high-bandwidth, low-latency internet connectivity, performant computing resources, collaborative areas, and a pleasant, spacious office environment. Report regularly on process improvements made and actions taken to improve productivity.
- Foster strong collaboration between India staff and USA staff. Enhance the IT infrastructure (telephony, internet, computers, tools) to facilitate and encourage frequent communications and interactions. In collaboration with USA Corporate Setup, plan visits by India-based staff to USA and USA staff to India to facilitate knowledge transfer and collaboration.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of companies product architecture, functionality, and interfaces combined with a desire to improve the products and insight into how-to.
- Keep oneself and the team technically sharp and up-to-date on new technologies, tools, and processes relevant to the companies Product Development. This includes, for example, agile processes and web and mobile protocols, interfaces, components, frameworks, tools, and platforms. Use your knowledge to influence key product architecture and development decisions.
- Keep oneself and team up-to-date on the customer and the market. Stay abreast of customer needs, priorities, actions, requests, and expectations.
- Communicate frequently with senior USA staff. Report regularly on accomplishments. Raise issues and concerns early-on and collaborate with USA Team to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Be well versed and oversee local Human Resources, as well as collaborate with USA Human Resources in the management of compliance with all laws, to include, The Gujarat Shops and Establishment Act, Employees- Compensation Act, Maternity Benefit Act and the Industrial Disputes Act; as will as company values and policies, and department processes.
- Ensure that all India employees are treated fairly and prevent sexual harassment.
- Establish suitable financial controls and reporting.
Candidate Profile :
- A Bachelor's or higher level degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred but equivalent work experience may be considered. With 14+yrs of exp min.
- Ability to travel required.
- Prefer candidates who have worked with US based IT setups for their Offshore / Captive setups.
