Role Overview:

The Country Head will provide strategic leadership, drive growth, foster partnerships, and represent the company at the highest levels in Sri Lanka. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the Sri Lankan operations to establish the company as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and execute long-term strategies aligned with the company's global vision.

- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships.

- Make key decisions on investments, expansions, and business direction.

Financial Performance:

- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

- Drive sustainable growth and ensure strong financial performance.

- Report financial outcomes and suggest strategic adjustments.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry leaders.

- Represent the company in high-level negotiations with clients and partners.

- Act as the public face of the company in Sri Lanka, engaging with media and speaking at events.

Operational Excellence:

- Ensure efficiency, compliance, and innovation in all operations.

- Implement robust risk management practices.

Team Leadership:

- Build and lead a high-performing management team.

- Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and ethical practices.

- Attract and retain top talent in the industry.

Market Expansion:

- Explore new product lines, services, and geographical areas.

- Lead initiatives for diversification and vertical integration.

Corporate Governance:

- Ensure compliance with local laws and corporate policies.

- Maintain strong governance practices and manage relationships with external consultants.

Requirements:

- 15+ years of experience in commodity trading, with 5+ years in senior leadership.

- Proven track record of business growth and profitability in Sri Lanka.

- Deep understanding of the Agri-commodity trading landscape, particularly in pulses, spices, and animal feed.

- Strong network within Sri Lanka's business, government, and international trade sectors.

- Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation and public speaking skills.

- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related fields; MBA preferred.

- Fluency in local language and English; additional languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience leading a multinational company's operations in Sri Lanka.

- Successful track record in joint ventures or agriculture partnerships.

- Expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments.
