Role: Manager Costing
Reports to: CFO India with close interactions with the Plant Controllers, Plants Ops Heads, Sales and Marketing, Regional teams
Location: Mumbai/Pune/Gurgaon
Education and background: CA / CWA and CMA with a minimum of 4 years of hands on experience in the area of costing and standardisation

A well established global brand with manufacturing setups across Asia. Constant growth and successful acquisitions have made them a worldwide leader in their sector.
With the operations of the company constantly growing and becoming more complex, this role needs to be handled by an independent person, who can not only drive but also standardise the product costing procedures across the various plants and also drive the right behaviour in the company as far as the cost collection, cost recording and cost analysis is concerned.
The role will require benchmarking of the costs across plants to enable the informed and correct decision making by the management of the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the cost template and standardize them across all plants within India
- Getting an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing processes of all the plants in India. This will require the individual to understand the technology, product, markets and customers with a view to get an understanding of all process costs
- Prepare a costing manual with a view to standardize the definitions across plants to avoid ambiguity and maintain consistency
- Define the procedures to collect and capture all the relevant costs on a real time basis
- Pre and post costing analysis
- Study the industry and benchmark the plants against the industry
- Drive the cost savings projects across all plants by engaging with the project owners and by constant reviews of the projects
Functional skills:
- In-depth understanding of product costing procedures
- Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and linkage between accounting and costing
- Deep commercial and business acumen
- Deep understanding of taxation system of various state governments and its impact on the products the organization manufactures as also for the customers

- Fluency in spoken English
