Cost Controller - R&D Operations - Manufacturing

Non CA- R & D Controller

- Controlling Specialist with 6-12 years of Cost Controlling experience, preferably in R&D Environment

- R&D NPD Project Controlling

- Partner with R&D project manager/s for overall control of the projects.

- Lead NPD projects in preparation of Business cases for Financials - Sales, Manufacturing costs, R&D costs, CAPEX, EBITDA, and EVA.

- Review of Business cases at control / quality gates to ensure financial viability of the project (development phase).

Partner with R&D Project manager and S&M for :

a. Benchmarking with competitor products (pre-development phase).

b. Target cost calculation (pre-development phase)

Partner with Plant Controlling :

a. To ensure proper setup and mapping of new products in SAP.

b. Monitor and review project financials KPI status post implementation (Ramp up phase).

- Proto type costs - define calculation scheme and perform yearly review based on agreed SKUs.

- Further development or Product Maintenance

- Partner with development department to drive cost reduction and productivity improvements projects.

- Ensure SAP updation - based on changes from above projects.

- R&D Department Controlling

- Cost Centre Controlling

- Budgeting/ Forecasting

- Actual monitoring, analysis and timely reporting

- Headcount control (review and approval)

- Hourly rate calculation (R&D manpower rate, R&D equipment rate)

- Hourly rate calculation - support functions (Quality, IE, Manufacturing technology)

- Ensure maintenance of timetable (R&D or Support function hours spent on projects)

- Monitor and approve R&D requisitions / purchases

- Liaise with Purchase dept. for R&D regular and capital purchases (partner for negotiations, terms and conditions etc.)

- R&D Invest Controlling

- Preparation of Capital Requests and assurance of accurate Investment Controlling

- Tracking and reporting obsolete assets to Management in proactive manner

- Post completion Audit of projects to ensure benefits are obtained.

General :

- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures or guidelines provided by Corp. Controlling.

- Process review and optimization with related business functions.

- Ensure dashboard preparation and presentation to management on monthly / quarterly basis with relevant financials KPIs (R&D projects, Cost centre etc.)

Stakeholders :

- Internal - R&D, Sales & Marketing, Quality, IE, Plant Controlling, Purchasing, Vendor development, Manufacturing Technology, Corp. Controlling, Corp. Strategy, (SCM)
