Location : Bangalore

PRIMARY PURPOSE : Need to do Should-Cost modeling, also known as cost breakdown analysis or clean sheet analysis, is an exercise to determine what a product or service has to cost based on a number of factors such as cost drivers like raw materials cost, manufacturing cost, labor rates, overhead costs, and the addition of a fair markup for profit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Perform a detailed cost break down of a part given and perform Should cost analysis

- Need to do deep dive analysis on various cost drivers and other value add identification of a certain part

- Estimate model procurement costs for new designs without waiting for supplier quotes

- Generating actionable factors on suppliers' product costs requires detailed insight into underlying factors including

- Material Costs/Manufacturing Process Costs

- Labor Costs

- Overhead

- Tooling/Facilities Investments

- Perform Should cost analytics for mechanical products like Cables, Connector Assemblies, PCBA's, Die casting etc

- Sending RFQs to suppliers and follow-up with supplier for offers

- Compare quotes and prepare analytics based on strategy built by GCM

- BOM review & clean-up

- Review and analyze supplier quotes to visualize the different alternatives

- Ensure accuracy (pricing, lead-time, etc.) of supplier quotes

- Recommend alternate parts and/or suppliers

- Finalize supplier awards working closely with the purchasing and sourcing teams

- Setting up e-Auction events and train the suppliers if needed

- Participate and collaborate on key initiatives as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION :

Required : Degree or Diploma in: Engineering

Preferred :

- Engineering in Electronics / Mechanical

- Added advantage with business studies

WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE :

Required : More than four years of work experience

Preferred :

- Engineering knowledge

- Experience in sourcing or cost-engineering

- Work experience at a contract manufacturer

- Exposure to manufacturing and production processes

SKILLS :

Required :

- Good Hands-on experience on various cost models

- Strong analytical skills

- Understand basic concepts of costing

- Strong communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders

- Analytical capability

- Abilities to perform under pressure

IT skills : MS Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred :

- Knowledge of tooling software like DFM, Apriori etc

- SAP Ariba

- Prior Should costing experience in mechanical category
