Cost Accountant - Agro Processing / Manufacturing

Job Location - Kano,Nigeria

KRA:

- Managing and analysing financial data related to the cost of agricultural production.

- Responsible for monitoring and analysing financial data related to the cost of agricultural production in the Kano region.

- Tracking expenses, conducting cost analysis, and assisting in budgeting to ensure efficient and profitable agricultural operations.

- Conduct in-depth analysis of production costs for various agricultural activities, including planting, harvesting, processing, and distribution.

- Collaborate with the management team to develop and maintain budgets for agricultural projects, providing valuable insights on cost-saving measures.

- Monitor and report on daily, weekly, and monthly expenses related to agriculture, identifying cost variances and their impact on operations.

- Maintain accurate records of agricultural inventory, including crops, seeds, fertilizers, and other resources. Ensure proper valuation of inventory.

- Identify areas where cost reductions can be made without compromising the quality and productivity of agricultural processes.

- Prepare financial reports, including cost analysis reports, cost breakdowns, and profit and loss statements, and present findings to management.

- Maintain and update financial databases, spreadsheets, and accounting software to ensure accurate and organized records.

- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, standards, and best practices in the agriculture sector.

- Analyse variances between budgeted and actual costs, investigating the reasons behind discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.

- Work closely with other departments, such as production, procurement, and marketing, to gather data and insights for cost analysis.
