JOB TITLE : Corporate Controller, Analyst DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTING TO : Corporate Controller, Analyst LOCATION OF JOB: Mumbai
POSITION OVERVIEW : Looking for an experienced Analyst who will be assisting with the monthly close of the accounting books and records, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, quarterly Statutory reporting, Corporation and VAT/ GST returns for UK, Luxembourg and other Jurisdictions. This exciting, well rounded role offers great opportunity for development; covering several jurisdictions as a key contact between various teams including fund and corporate controllers; tax; legal and compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR :
- Month-end, quarter-end and annual accounting books and records including expense accruals, costs allocations, revenue calculations, corporation income tax accruals under US / UK / LUX GAAP, various reconciliations substantiating significant balances, income statement trends analysis, etc.
- Year-end financial statements and timely completion of related audits.
- Quarterly VAT and GST returns and related payments.
- Quarterly CIT payments and annual tax returns.
- Quarterly, half-yearly and annual UK and Luxembourg Regulatory reporting with ongoing responsibility to ensure the regulated entities are adequately capitalized at all times.
- Quarterly sales invoicing.
- Cash management of entities under remit; settling the intercompany balances.
- Business partnering and working on business development projects and team initiatives.
- Liaising frequently with corporate / fund controllers, tax, compliance, legal teams in London and NY to ensure various matters are addressed proactively, timely and accurately
- Working closely with the other team members on initiatives and ensuring team best practice.
- Completing ad hoc and special requests as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge)
- Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree with majors in finance, accounting and /or economics is highly recommended and at least 3-5 years PQE of experience ideally in the investment management or financial industry or a Chartered Accountant with similar experience of 1 to 1.5 years
- Proactive / can do attitude, ability to assume responsibility on tasks and "run with them" to conclusion are a key success factors
- Hands-on and strong attention to detail are a must
- Energy, sees the big picture and thinks forward
- Analytical - the individual synthesizes complex or diverse information
- Good oral and written communications adapted to various audiences
- Cope well under pressure and able to balance multiples task simultaneously
- High ethical standards and ability to observe confidentiality
- Strong technical skills particularly on Excel.
