Construction contract background mandate.


- The is a full-time hybrid role in India out of one of our India offices (Bengalore (Bengaluru), New Delhi, Hyderabad, or Mumbai). This position reports to the Associate General Counsel based in Schaumburg, Illinois, USA. Hyderabad is preferred.

Responsibilities Include:


- Draft, review, redline and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including master service agreements, customer agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure, consulting, and other agreements routinely related to construction, installation and service of security systems, innovative technology, data privacy, and software-as-a-service.

Provide legal analysis and advice regarding offerings, initiatives and strategy, including counseling and collaborating on regulatory, privacy, security, emerging technology, intellectual property, and other issues.


- Contributing to the development of business processes and policies to mitigate risk, reduce inefficiencies, and achieve business objectives.


- Identifying key compliance risks and issues.


- Ability to work agreements originating from anywhere globally.


- Learn and understand the security integration business sufficiently to educate and advise the business with respect to legal and risk management issues relating to the offerings.


- Develop clear communications, guidance, templates and trainings for the business.


- Serve as the liaison for the Legal Department in engaging outside counsel and support Legal Department initiatives.


- Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications Include:


- 10+ years of commercial contract drafting and negotiating experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house environment. Prior in-house (corporate) experience is preferred over law firm experience.


- Commitment to a creative, inclusive, and diverse workplace, and ability to contribute to a sense of belonging in the broader Legal Department.


- Exemplary contract drafting skills, ability to think outside of templates and resolve issues with creativity and precision.

- Comfortable with researching and analyzing international, federal, state, and local contract laws, as well as related administrative processes.


- Proven ability to spot issues, work creatively, and use independent judgment to solve problems.

- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting.


- Prior work with a security or technology company with substantive experience drafting and negotiating contracts preferred.


- Most clients are based in APAC with some clients based globally, so an ability to accommodate customary work hours in other countries.


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of other foreign languages are preferred.


- Knowledge of European, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and US legal systems would be very beneficial

Basic Qualifications:


- Undergraduate degree in law (LLB)/PG degree from a recognized Indian university (or equivalent education from another country).


- Construction industry, technology or systems integrator experience preferred.

- Ability to work independently and, if remotely, with high quality internet connection.
