Content Strategist


The Consultant Manager/SM typically has elaborate experience in developing and leading successful marketing and communications programs, with a focus on content strategy.

The key responsibilities will include the following:

- Define the overall content strategy and activation agenda for the client, in collaboration with the client team and other project stakeholders.

- Conduct research and analysis on consumer personas and market/competitors and develop and lead the content marketing strategy and execution across channels.

- Manage a team of brand strategists, content strategists, copywriters, content writers, graphic designers, and senior creative leaders to implement the strategy and deliver business outcomes for the client.

- Create content marketing strategies and marketing plans for content distribution across all channels (including owned and paid media) and devices and create roadmap for required tech architecture, ROI measurement for content efforts.

- Design and execute processes for DCO (Dynamic creative optimization), landing page optimizations to scale the traffic and leads from organic search. Use data/insights for informed content decisions, measure results, and identify opportunities for audience and traffic growth.

- Measure and report on the effectiveness of the content marketing programs.

- Define, implement, and optimize SEO strategies (on-page and off-page)

- Manage projects to plan, execute, and deliver content initiatives successfully. This includes managing timelines, budgets, resources, and coordinating cross-functional teams.

- Understanding of content management system like AEM, Sitecore etc.

Key Skills:

- A strong understanding of the fundamentals of Marketing

- A strong understanding of the fundamentals of Digital Marketing

- A strong understanding of the fundamentals of branding - brand purpose, brand persona, tone of voice, visual language, etc.

- An ability to devise customer personas.

- An understanding of the P2P customer journey and the ability to map personas to user journeys.

- An understanding of content strategy frameworks like Hero-Hub-Hygiene, theme-based framework, etc.

- An understanding of Influencer Marketing, Native Content Marketing and UGC Strategy

- An ability to use outputs from Social Listening tools to tailor the content strategy

- An understanding of key digital metrics like reach, impressions, engagement rate, etc.

- The ability to use insights from channel data to tailor devise the channel-specific approach.

- An understanding of copy, content, and design and E2E content supply chain.

- A thorough understanding of content trends on various social platforms

- An ability to work closely with brand strategists, copywriters, content writers, graphic designers and senior creative leaders.

- An ability work with performance marketing to create content to drive ROI for campaigns that involve PPC, display advertising, paid social, etc.

- An understanding of how long and short videos can be integrated into the content strategy based on brand objectives, user behavior and platform trends.

- An ability to work with MarTech specialists to create content to fuel marketing automation campaigns

- An understanding of the various avenues available to drives innovative user experiences and brand outreach

- An understanding of on-page SEO & keyword research

- Strong storytelling skills

- A fundamental understanding of the functioning of a content factory, content ticketing system and content management systems (CMS)

- A keenness to adapt to learn and adapt to new technology in the digital realm.

In addition, to excel at the role, you will also need to have:

- An ability to work with the leadership to support business development and thought leadership.

- Be adept at working in a fast-paced dynamic environment both on offshore and onshore locations.

- Strong communication and presentation skills to share the perfect pitch with key stakeholders.

- Strong client handling skills to develop, manage and deepen relationships with key stakeholders.

- Team building skills to collaborate, work and motivate teams with diverse skills and experience to achieve goals.

- Possess strong leadership skills along with strong communication, problem solving, organizational and delegation skills to nurture and inspire team members.

- Identify new opportunities, develop solutions, and own proposals end to end.

- Contribute to offering development skills to identify areas of growth related to specific skills, platforms, assets etc. that contribute to enhancing the offering

Your experience counts!

- MBA from a tier 1 institute with preferably bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field

- Overall experience of 8+ years with at least 6 years of developing and executing data driven content marketing across channels. Agency experience is an added advantage.

- Proven experience in leading the development of content for different channels to execute integrated marketing and communications plans.

- In-depth knowledge of branding, creative development and execution, digital marketing, and campaign deployment and optimization

- Experience in working with middle to senior management levels within existing organization / client organizations.

- Experience in working across multiple industries.

- Experience in setting up and growing teams to meet needs across skills, geographies, and industries.
