Manager (Consulting) BFSI Sector
Looking for candidates primarily from BFSI sector for one of the world’s largest financial services institution.
Overall Job Purpose:
- Independently lead delivery in consulting assignments and provide objective advice, expertise and specialist skills with the aim of creating value, maximising growth or improving the business performance of the clients
- Share responsibility for leading, managing and growing the Consulting vertical within the Knowledge Services division.
- Manage service delivery, people and business growth for the Consulting vertical by leveraging stakeholder relationships and actively identifying potential support areas across the firm's businesses
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Delivery:
- Independently lead consulting engagements in UK and Asia with a view to improve overall delivery and maximize stakeholder feedback through guidance and mentorship for fellow consultants
- Streamline current delivery processes (e.g., offshore development) and bring adequate quality controls
Provide oversight to other consulting assignments as appropriate
Act as single point of contact /account manager role for key stakeholders and manage key relationships.
Strategy and business development:
- Review and refine the strategy and current operating model of the consulting vertical with a view to making it sustainable, team based, IP driven and a high value function for the group
- Work in close collaboration with new analytics leader and KS head to conceptualize and pilot new capabilities within the analytics-consulting domain
- Actively leverage stakeholder relationships to get sponsorship and buy-in for new projects/pilots and define a business development strategy for the vertical
- Lead the formation of operating plans and budgets for the consulting vertical.
People management:
- Direct responsibility for people management (with the exception of a few tenured team members) across the employee lifecycle from hiring to managing appraisals to handling exits
- Coach, mentor and groom the team members of the team for their career growth and organisational goals
In addition adherence to:
- Compliance – To ensure that you understand and adhere to the firm's code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.
- Performance Management – Provide performance feedback to Assistant Managers who are part of the project team
Competence / Knowledge / Skills required:
- MBA (Finance specialisation) from one of the Top 15 B-Schools + Graduate in any discipline (Latest 2003 batch)
- Has experience in driving strategic projects in financial services/insurance industry
- Capable of blue sky thinking and a flare for capability building esp. in area of analytics based consulting services.
- Knowledge of project management lifecycle methodology. Certification in project management would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and application of process improvement techniques such as meta-planning, process modelling, root cause analysis would be preferred
- Knowledge and application of tools and frameworks for strategy and organisation design principles would be preferred
- Ability to understand business issues, and understand the business impact of proposed solutions
- Ability to present problems and solutions clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally
- Ability to demonstrate excellent listening and comprehension skills to formulate appropriate options
- Strong insurance domain knowledge
- Excellent Stakeholder Management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
