At Outsized, we match clients in financial services and management consulting to high-quality independent consultants and boutique/specialist firms for the execution of their key projects.
Our client, a leading management consulting firm is currently managing the technical audit requirement of an Oil and Gas client. Thus they are seeking to contract an expert for a long-term internal audit project focusing on critical technical and support areas. The audit will cover various technical aspects of the business, including Exploration, Drilling, Asset Integrity, and more.
This is a 12-month contractual role based onsite.
What will you be doing:
- Conducting Technical Audits:
- Perform comprehensive audits in the following priority technical areas:
- Exploration
- Drilling
- Asset Integrity
- Reservoir Management
- Well Lifecycle
- Marketing and Commercial for Petroleum Products
- Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
- Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Compliance
Support Audits:
- Conduct audits across various support functions, including:
- Human Resources (HR)
- Maintenance
- Procurement
- Material Management
- Contract Compliance
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Cycle
- Risk Assessment & Internal Control:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes within the technical and support areas
- Identify potential risks and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes through insightful audit findings
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to ensure understanding and implementation of audit recommendations
Team Management:
- Lead the audit team and manage audit engagements
- Develop audit plans and strategies in alignment with client objectives
- Provide expert guidance on complex technical and support areas
- Liaise with senior management to discuss audit findings and recommendations
- Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive and comprehensive audit coverage
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment
Your background:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines).
- 7-10 years of experience in technical audit of Oil & Gas clients
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or similar are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the petroleum industry and its technical and operational aspects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This is a contractual opportunity and will be on an initial 12-month contract. The selected consultant will have to be based out of the Middle East for the entire duration of the role.
