The role involves working with the other members of the legal team to set up a compliance function and manage specific compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Plan, organize, and control the day-to-day administrative and operational compliance activities
- Liaise with local regulators like the FIU, RBI and other relevant authorities to meet the company's regulatory obligations
- Manage all aspects of compliance related relationship and advise the Board of Directors, senior management, and other personnel of emerging compliance issues and consult and guide the local undertaking in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks
- Implement and enhance an effective Compliance Risk Assessment Program to identify the risks associated with the regulatory environment, the products and services offered, geographical locations of operation, and the channels used
- Enforce risk management and mitigation processes within the company
- Lead due diligence tasks for counterparties onboarding, and to process ongoing KYC updates
- Manage activity oversight, ensuring that transactions carried out comply with internal AML/CTF policies and collaborate with the transaction monitoring function
- Assist in regulatory and counterparty audits
- Work with different departments to coordinate all reporting and other requirements
- Implement and enhance effective AML/CTF training and continuing education programs for all applicable employees, agents and senior management
