Compliance function responsible for the regulatory compliance (RC) and financial crime compliance (FCC) for the NBFC lending business.
The role is based at Mumbai and the candidate will be responsible for the management & control of regulatory and financial compliance risk for the lending to Private Banking Customers.
- Ensure compliance policies and procedures for all products are compliant with regulatory and Group requirements.
- Review of new and existing product offerings from compliance perspective
- Identifying compliance risks in the business and providing solutions
- Manage the internal and external relationship with Regulators, Group Auditors and Senior Management for all aspects of Compliance risk
- Support new product launches, including up to date RRP’s and all legal and regulatory changes, as required, on a timely basis
- Support new projects workstreams and assurance, while ensuring alignment with Global Standards
- Understanding, discussing, disseminating new / changes in regulations and ensuring implementation
- Periodic reviews of specific areas / operations of the business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
- Leadership over all regulatory and compliance matters and the management of operational risk
- Supports and embeds best practice management and administrative procedures in own business area.
- Maintain internal control standards, including the timely implementation of audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Maintain cost discipline, rationalise and consolidate risk expense and manage all budgets within plan
Skills / Experience required:
- Sound knowledge of local (RBI, SEBI etc.) laws and regulations and compliance framework
- Good understanding of the NBFC / capital market lending business
- Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
- Understanding of international benchmark around client confidentiality and fairness to clients
- High level of maturity, resilience, sharp negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to understand complex concepts.
- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and drive compliance culture.
- Work experience of a minimum of 5-8 years.
- Company Secretary/ Chartered Accountant / MBA degree
- Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.
- Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business within India.
