Job Description :
Reporting to General Manager Commercial you will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and monitoring the procurement strategy, policy and procedures for an addressable spend in the Paints section for Direct & Indirect categories.
- Developing and implementing strategies for the effective negotiation and management of strategic contracts and suppliers.
- Leading and driving initiatives that deliver improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement activity and creating a simplified process for end users.
- Managing the day to day operation of the procurement department and its resources in order to deliver the Procurement Strategy.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to achieve 'value for money' savings targets that support the achievement of budgets.
- Lead and/or facilitate cross-functional teams to continually assess business requirements and align supply base and resources to drive savings and sustainable value for the company year on year
- Actively manage the portfolio of suppliers to strengthen partnerships with key suppliers and continuously manage supplier performance.
- Collaborating across the supplier network to deliver optimum value for money.
- Ensuring a high degree of compliance to the finance and purchasing regulations.
- Determining and leading on the company's sustainable procurement agenda to support the strategic aims.
- Lead the operational procurement teams, to identify best approaches for handling operational transactions to drive efficiencies, lower administrative costs, add accountability and controls
- Provide leadership role in budget development and drive the procurement plan from a regional and global perspective
- Successfully uses leadership skills, communication skills and ability to leverage resources in a matrix organizational structure to ensure cross business opportunities are continuously actively embraced
- Drive an innovative culture of continuous improvement within the supply base
- Role model within both the organization and the wider market, creating a culture of honesty, integrity, respect and trust.
The Successful Applicant :
To Be a Successful Candidate, You Should :
- Be a Postgraduate with 12-15 years of work experience in procurement in a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical or oils and gas industry.
- Be thorough with using procurement tools (SAP MM, Ariba, e-auctions, Advanced Excel).
- Have considerable knowledge of methods of analysing suppliers & material, contract language, compliance requirements, and financial risk.
- Have the ability to develop & execute business continuity/strategic plans to provide direction toward the achievement of financial targets.
- Have a track record of exceptional collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors and colleagues
- Be an excellent negotiation, oral, and written communication skills.
