Collections & Recovery Head - NBFC

Job Purpose : 

- Setup and manage the entire collections & recovery process and infrastructure for the SME lending vertical of the company

- Build collections strategy in line with industry best practices meeting the broad objective of company policy

- Manage the NPA as well as cost of collections metrics for the SME lending vertical

Collections :

- Build the new collections function, including people, processes, policies, procedures and rules for the SME lending vertical

- Ensure implementation of collections policies and risk management strategies for effective portfolio management

- Review collections strategies, policies and procedures on a regular basis; and recommend amendments to the leadership.

- Motivate, manage and counsel the collections managers & officers to ensure their continued focus towards achievement of overall target

- Work closely with risk, operations, legal, analytics & business teams for improvement in collections and underwriting

- Manage & allocate budgets and benchmarks for the various zonal teams

- Give pertinent data backed feedback to the credit team to help improve the credit policies and overall portfolio NPA

- Ensure monthly recovery targets are met on pan-India level and by each zonal team

- Report portfolio performance against quarter and annual target to the CEO and board directors

Agency Management :

- Develop and manage relations with outsourced collection agencies & vendors pan-India to help improve resolution rates for pre-write-off accounts and money collection on write-off/90+ cases at the best cost

Governance & Compliance :

- Work closely with concerned teams for effective external communication and respond to any enquiries from RBI or any other regulatory/statutory body

- Ensure collection and execution happens in line with the articulated code of conduct, regulatory norms and best practices.

- Preferred Requirements - 10+ years of expereince in collections in the financial services space
