Senior Sales Desk Assistant - Team Lead Level

The Senior Sales Desk Assistant is expected to perform the following tasks :

- Manage a team of desk assistants on a daily basis in line with goals set by client and Cognizant Line Manager.

- Set goals, establish tracking systems, develop training courses to meet operational metrics set for the team by client and Cognizant Line Manager

- Ensure team meets compliance and other norms set by client and Cognizant

- Generate market, sector and stock ideas. Communicate these ideas to sales persons and traders in writing.

- Compile daily and weekly market and product updates from internally available content

- Compile daily and weekly summaries of house research

- Maintain client list, deal DL mail list and Research Link data

- Assist with client analytics

- Data analysis and handling bespoke client requests

- Execute other administrative tasks such as entering expense reports filing delegated by salespersons and traders

- Exceptional graduates or post-graduates in finance/business administration/accounting or equivalent subjects from Tier 1 Universities in their respective country or reputed universities.

Skills and Requirements :

- 2- 4 years of work experience in equities research\equities sales\business management in securities firms or banks preferred

- Hands on Financial Data Resources, such as Bloomberg, Reuters, WSJ, etc.

- Knowledge about the US market, especially in Special Situations such as M&A, LBO, Spin-offs, buy backs, IPOs, Filings etc.

- Proven analytical capabilities; the candidate needs to demonstrate ability to think independently, and generate and express ideas

- Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills.

- Certain flexibility with regards to working hours

- Ability to work on strict deadlines along with good writing skills.

- Needs to be a team player and adaptable to changing requirements of clients

- Strong service orientation; strong interpersonal skills are a key requirement

- Ability to perform duties pro-active, reliable and accurate without constant supervision

- Well organized and showing initiative

- Strong communication skills - Excellent written and spoken English

- Effective communications and persuasive ability

- Work on multi-task for supporting the whole team

- Data manipulation & analysis. Proven track record of working on large and complex data sets.

- Information gathering and people co-ordination

- Excellent time management

- Attention to detail

- Fast learner

- Resourcefulness and ability to find answers and resolve problems on their own
