Cognizant - Mortgage Underwriter - Subject Matter Expert & Senior Process Executive

Role: Mortgage Underwriter (Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Senior Process Executive (SPE)

Qualification: Graduate/Post-Graduate

Responsibility:

Must to have:

- Candidate to have 5+ / 7 years of experience in US Residential Mortgage Industry and 18+ / 36 month of minimum experience in US Residential mortgage Underwriter process for SME role or

- Candidate to have 3-5 years of experience in US Residential Mortgage Industry and 12-18 month of minimum experience in US Residential mortgage Underwriter process for SPE role.

- Good knowledge about 4 C's (Credit, Capacity, Collateral & Capital).

- Good with communication (Written and Spoken)

- In Depth knowledge about Conventional and Salaried borrower.

- Clear understanding about difference between Conventional and Govt sponsored loans (FHA, VA, USDA)

- Good understanding with investors guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC)

Nice to have:

- Experience of working on multiple LOS.

- Calculating income for Self Employed borrower and reviewing Tax returns.

- Reviewing Title & Collateral documents

Job Description:

- Reviewing loan application and performing calculation for LTV, CLTV, DTI and HDTI

- Analyzing the Credit report to identify any derogatory public records and the tradelines

- Reviewing Income documents of the borrower to calculate the monthly qualifying income

- Validating the acceptability of bank statement to decision the available funds and its source

- Decisioning the loan as per Investor guidelines and ensuring it meets the QM requirement

- Reviewing the collateral report and validating the appraised value of property Communicating with the up-stream process (Verbally/Written) to educate them about the pending document

- Reviewing the PnP manual and updating it periodically with any new updates and changes

- Acts as an SME for the team to Identify and resolve issues and document all process changes

Good to Have Skills:

- Good knowledge about MS Excel, PPT and preparing dashboard.

- Idea generation for process improvement opportunity.

- Good Team player
