Cognizant - Functional Architecture Role - Commodities Trading Domain - BFSI

Functional Architecture Role - Deep domain (commodities) expert having data modelling skill (12-16 yrs)

- We require an accomplished functional architect to work within an existing functional architecture team, with the role requiring an expertise in providing end to end functional design and in assuring functional design principles are adhered to for key functional deliveries.

- The program is aimed at delivering major functional enhancements across all primary business lines to enable continued business growth and enhanced profitability for the firm.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

- MBA degree from Tier 1 B School is a mandate.

- 12 plus years of experience

- 3+ years proven functional architecture experience, preferably in the physical commodities trading arena

- +10 years of IT business analysis experience (may overlap with functional architecture experience)

- Techno-functional person who has experience in similar roles in the past

- Knowledge of Commodity trading (Oil or metal trading experience)and not just pure financial trading

- Excellent communication skills. Have run workshops/led functional tracks in past ( long term projects with multiple releases etc. )

- Agile projects in the past ( Good to have)

- Expected to have an excellent grasp on the full end to end trading process, and to be a domain expert in at least one of the following broad areas

- Trade capture for physical commodity transactions, or commodity derivatives

- Confirmation management, including term sheet and confirmation/contract production, pricing and risk, including real time valuation

- Track record of working in a team that has delivered large scale applications

- Experience in a variety of software development methodologies (e.g. continuous integration, iterative development)

- Strong academic background - Excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation

Key Responsibilities :

- Responsible for contribution, maintenance and ownership of the overall functional roadmap within their functional area, collating contributions from business stakeholders, business analysts & delivery teams and contributing to a centralized, cohesive & prioritised Trading IT functional roadmap

- Needs to form a robust collaborative relationship with the business analysts, technical & solution architect(s), developers, quality assurance team and project managers assigned to the project.

- Creation and maintenance of progressive logical component models supporting our overall functional roadmap

- Identifying key design decisions within the scope of the functional roadmap, providing design solution options and initiation of design workshops resulting in a recommendation for appropriate business design authority groups

- Update and maintenance of an enterprise data model and state model for use in delivery of functional capabilities.
