Description

Experience – should have 2-10 years of experience in P&C (non-life) insurance. Can be an MBA from the industry with a little bit of consulting exp’. If working in either of the big 5 Consulting firms in insurance that, would be an added bonus

Location - Chennai/ Bangalore/ Kolkata / Mumbai

Domain Experience:

Must have hands on exposure to Insurance across different insurance functions –

- Sales and Distribution

- NB and underwriting

- Policy servicing

- Claims

- Reinsurance

- Accounting – if worked on SAP, etc. will be an added advantage

- Broking

- MIS, reporting, compliance etc.

Skills

- Consulting skills including BPR, fit-gap analysis, transformation and advisory services

- Should have the ability to define the problem and then come to the solution roadmap

- Ability to understand both IT and business and act as a bridge between the two for doing effective consulting around strategy and putting together the IT roadmap

Preferable employers

- BIG 4 – KPMG, E&Y, Deloitte, Accenture, etc. in their management consulting groups

- Or an insurance company in their strategy or consulting group

Qualifications –Graduate / Post-graduate in engineering or any commerce, statistics, etc

- Post-graduation – MBA/PGDBA in finance or systems preferable - CA/ICWA with insurance experience could be lower priority options

- Professional qualification/s in the Insurance domain will be preferred – FIII/LOMA/INS/ACII/CPCU, etc. and related insurance industry certifications for Australia

- Additional qualification/s or certifications in ‘Systems’ will also be preferred e.g. Rational certification of IBM, IIBA certification

Other aspects –

- Should have worked in an offshore/outsourcing scenario before – if fully worked only in Indian market that is also ok

- Strong communicator

- Well networked in the insurance community

- A good culture fit for Cognizant with a cosmopolitan background and understanding of different cultures, flexible and mature in approach, right level of sophistication, gravitas and polish

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering, process documentation, project deliverable creation & support.

- Contribute to presentation development, System/ Functional Architecture Analysis and drive solution identification and implementation.

- Should be able to Develop/Co-ordinate/ Manage project plan sections and reports and reports status on plan sections.

- Emphasize on revenue generation via solutions. Seeks opportunities to partner and transfer knowledge (e.g., by actively participating in conferences, meetings, committees, multi-stakeholder groups and/or seminars)

- Should possess Basic to Intermediate Analytical skills.

- Basic to Intermediate SDLC knowledge.

- Possess Basic knowledge in testing .
