Life Insurance Domain Consultants

Experience – should have 2-10 years of experience in Life insurance. Can be an MBA from the industry with a little bit of consulting exp’. If working in either of the big 5 Consulting firms in insurance that, would be an added bonus

Skills

- Consulting skills including BPR, fit-gap analysis, transformation and advisory services

- Should have the ability to define the problem and then come to the solution roadmap

- Ability to understand both IT and business and act as a bridge between the two for doing effective consulting around strategy and putting together the IT roadmap

Qualifications

- Graduate / Post-graduate in engineering or any commerce, statistics, etc

- Post-graduation – MBA/PGDBA in finance or systems preferable - CA/ICWA with insurance experience could be lower priority options

- Professional qualification/s in the Insurance domain will be preferred – FIII/LOMA/INS/ACII/CPCU, etc. and related insurance industry certifications for Australia

- Additional qualification/s or certifications in ‘Systems’ will also be preferred e.g. Rational certification of IBM, IIBA certification

Other aspects –

- Should have worked in an offshore/outsourcing scenario before – if fully worked only in Indian market that is also ok

- Strong communicator

- Well networked in the insurance community

- A good culture fit for Cognizant with a cosmopolitan background and understanding of different cultures, flexible and mature in approach, right level of sophistication, gravitas and polish

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering, process documentation, project deliverable creation & support.

- Lead business analysis and requirements gathering, process documentation, project deliverable creation & support.

- Contribute to presentation development, System/ Functional Architecture Analysis and drive solution identification and implementation

- Should be able to Develop/Co-ordinate/ Manage project plan sections and reports and reports status on plan sections

- Emphasize on revenue generation via solutions. Seeks opportunities to partner and transfer knowledge (e.g., by actively participating in conferences, meetings, committees, multi-stakeholder groups and/or seminars)

- Act as a team lead and mentor subordinates.

- Provide informal coaching to junior team members

Job Requirement

- Possess knowledge of Data modeling

- Should possess Basic to Intermediate Analytical skills

- Basic to Intermediate SDLC knowledge

- Possess Basic knowledge in testing

People Interactions

- Within own team or department at operational level.

- Contact with user/customer at peer / first /middle management level
