Cognizant - Associate Economist

Position: Associate Economist (4-6yrs of experience)

Job Description : The position is of an associate who will study and make a reports on the impact of various developmental activities (eg. migration, travel, environment etc) on various sectors and industries. This would involve gaining insights by way of discussions/interviews with subject-matter experts, extensive review of literature and formulate a summary based on the understandings derived/findings. Further the findings/insights will be discussed with the relevant sector analysts to ascertain/explain the credibility of the potential impact and turn it into a research report.

1) Passion for applied economics/strategy.

2) Devising methods and procedures for obtaining data

3) Research and analyze economic issues

4) Understanding various developmental economics concepts and their applicability to sector research.

5) Expertise in data interpretation and analysis

6) Expertise in evaluating past and present economic trends

7) Prepare research reports on impact of developmental economic factors on various sectors

8) Collaborate with sector analysts to ascertain the impact of various developmental factors on their respective sectors

Desired qualification/skillset:

1) Post Graduate Degree in Economics/Statistics or MBA (Finance)

2) Excellent excel and writing skills

3) Good knowledge of macroeconomics and applied economics

4) Good knowledge of statistical/econometric analysis

5) Hands on experience with external research databases such as Bloomberg/Haver/Reuters

6) Experience in writing for economics-related journals will be an added advantage
