Overview:
Founded in 2002 by President William J. Clinton, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the world and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local management. By working in association with governments and other NGO partners, CHAI is focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI's teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and care.
Chennai is the fourth most populous metropolitan area in India, governed by the Chennai Corporation, with a strong public health structure and a large, fragmented private health sector. The Corporation of Chennai, together with a wide-ranging partnership of public and private sector stakeholders, is now spearheading an ambitious vision of TB-free Chennai. Under this vision, the Corporation aims to develop a comprehensive service delivery model for rapidly achieving increased case detection, and reduced TB mortality in a complex urban environment.
The Corporation's vision will be realized through the support and collaboration of several donors, organizations providing technical support and implementing partners.
A technical support group (TSG) constituting a team of specialists in specific fields is in the process of being established to provide coordination, technical and strategic support to the Municipal Corporation of Chennai for the implementation of the - TB Free Chennai- initiative. This TSG will be seconded by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to the Chennai Corporation.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability and communication skills for the role of TSG Costing and Research Analyst. The incumbent must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. CHAI places great value on personal qualities including resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethic.
Under the guidance of the TSG Manager, the Costing and Research Analyst will work closely with the State TB Program, Corporation of Chennai, REACH, National Institute of Research in Tuberculosis and other key strategic partners as appropriate, to support the vision of the - TB Free Chennai In Initiative.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing a framework for cost-effectiveness analysis, collating costing data, analysing the cost effectiveness of current program and absorption of new interventions, and supporting advocacy for scale-up of new insights
Working closely with all Chennai partners and other relevant bodies in India (e.g. CTD) to conduct rigorous and ongoing costing of the TB Free Chennai program
Coordinating with relevant stakeholders to integrate key cost fields into data systems
Supporting hands-on operational management of research work in Chennai, which may include management of field research teams, securing ethics approvals and coordinating with key stakeholders
Support the Corporation in the development and drafting of the annual PIP
Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in economics or business
At least 3 years- experience in the public health space with adequate project experience in health economics and operational research
Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities
Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, especially clinical, scientific and technical information
Hands on experience in modelling and forecasting
