Client Relationship
- Monitor the Firms major clients, which partners are responsible for the relationship, mining relationships, maintaining data etc.
- Prepare dossier of select clients with updated information.
- Existing / Past Client Data Base:
- Study the existing client data base (for each practice area - on a priority basis).
- Streamline, organise and build a valuable and accurate database.
- Gather current information / updates on these clients.
- Reasons for fall out (if any) with the Firm.
- Re-connect with such clients using the right contact within the Firm either by a “catch-up” meeting (if possible) just to touch base or by inviting them to a internal talk / seminars / presentations - appropriate for such clients.
- Setting up system to get a “feedback” / “feed-forward” from our clients i.e. not only to understand how the team has performed on a transaction but also how they would like to be served better in the future.
- New / Target Clients
- Identifying potential clients, their main business and corresponding the same with our expertise / practice area.
- Studying and tracking their business and current / up-coming projects.
- Identifying which are the possible law firms they could consider going to besides us and how do our services differ from theirs.
- Looking for internal contacts within the Firm with such clients.
- Establishing a connection with the client using the internal contact or by arranging a ‘cold call’.
- Alternatively, we could identify and attend seminars / conferences where these potential targets are expected to attend.
- Approach the client with the right leaders / team members - those who can add value and make a difference to the client’s needs - the idea is to make an impact and create a demand for the Firm.
- Follow up after meeting such clients, adding to proper database, sending newsletter and keeping in touch for any future opportunity.
- Pitching / Proposals
- Reviewing and editing content of pitch material/proposals/experience lists for consistency and quality of content.
- Assisting BDO team on the content building of the IFLR , Legal 500 and other legal submissions.
Sector Specialisation
- Driving the Firm’s sector specialization initiative.
- Identifying important sectors.
- Identifying teams (intra office and intra practice) appropriate for each sector.
- Ensuring that the team is building sector specialized knowledge base and undergoing specialized training etc.
Knowledge Management
- Working closely with the KM Team ,respond to KM queries and updating the KM database.
