About CAIB (the Investment Banking Division):
Client Associates Investment Banking (CAIB) is a sector agnostic, boutique investment banking practice that was set-up in 2016. CAIB works with a range of institutional & family office investors, & provides its clients with objective expert advice on a full array of services including private equity, mergers & acquisitions advisory & corporate finance advisory. Over the years, we have established an enviable track record of successful deal closures in the Consumer and Consumer- tech, Fintech, Health-tech, Education, Ed-tech and other sectors.
The Role:
- The position is a front-facing analyst/senior analyst role in CAIB. We are looking at graduates with 1-3 years of work experience in buy/sell side roles for the analyst position and 3 - 4 years of experience for Associate level (if you have the relevant knowledge, lack of experience won't be a limiting factor to your candidature). Candidates should be comfortable with accounting and have a strong understanding of financial statements & valuation.
- Candidates with experience in building out detailed financial models will be given preference. We also expect our analysts to have a strong academic background, be articulate, have good written communication skills, and have a good working knowledge of MS PPT & Excel. You can look forward to an entrepreneurial setup, flexibility in executing things differently, and most importantly, being a valued team-member of a fast-growing boutique investment banking practice.
What you will do on a daily basis:
- Transaction Execution:
- End-to-end execution of transactions under guidance from colleagues
- Prepare high quality financial models, pitch-books, information memorandums, presentations, & other communication materials for clients and investors. Respond to on-going investor queries on live deals
- Work on deal closure documents including term sheets, SSA, SHA and other legal documents
- Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Interact with clients/entrepreneurs on a daily basis, understand their key concerns and address them with colleagues, modify & incorporate in deal messaging accordingly
- Help clients streamline their overall data packet, including but not limited to their MIS, historical financials, other company related information
- Build long-term relationships with stakeholders - including investors, individual HNIs, fund managers etc.
- Deal Sourcing/building knowledge assets:
- Build industry and company investment thesis: Conduct research & analysis on different industries, competitive dynamics, macro-factors, and positioning of different players within the chosen industry
- Pro-actively Identify opportunities & support the team in origination & conversion of leads.
