ACCOUNT MANAGER - ACADEMIC & GOVERNMENT

ROLE PURPOSE :

This position manages and grows revenue and market share at designated accounts to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve company's strategic objectives. Leverage knowledge of Thomson Reuters, Industry, people, products, services, resources and activities, to continually strengthen the knowledge and business relationships with assigned clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Manages, retains and grows revenue, responsible for sales and the customer relationship (may include new sales and revenue quota attainment).

- Support sales of Scholarly and Scientific literature products including Research data analytics, work-flow, measure & management.

- Develop good understanding of Universities, Research institutions and other bodies set-up and work-flow in Academics and Government workflow.

- Develops and maintains client relationships to ultimately drive revenue growth.

- Develops and executes account strategy by collaborating with account team to deliver stronger, more relevant value propositions.

- Plays a leadership role in Student Ambassador Program to ensure better connects with academic institutions and drive usage and preference with end users.

- Acquire and develop deep insight into the client and Thomson Reuters objectives, projects, and activities with the goal of improving relationships and producing results.

- Responsible for forecasting, keeps management in touch with accounts in a timely fashion, gathers intelligence on competitor activity, and gives feedback to marketing.

- Acts as point of contact for the client, provides escalation path to and from Service, attends to customer issues promptly.

- Tracks customer activity in internal systems in order to execute on account strategy and identify additional opportunities.

TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES :

- Minimum of 6 years sales or account management experience with a leading institution serving Academic & Government Segment in India & South Asia, with a consistent track record of revenue growth.

- Selling skills (identity, develop and articulate a complex proposition/consultative selling).

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop and execute a sales plan, ability to use a variety of technology with a high level of proficiency.

- Problem solving - ability to understand, articulate, structure and solve client needs.

- Presentation and communication skills: ability to deliver presentations and communicate at all levels within an organization.

- Ability to collaborate with account team.

- Experience in working under pressure and with minimum supervision.

- A good team player / self-motivated.

- A customer driven approach and good territory/customer management skills.

- Can set priorities and be flexible in changing environment.

- Willing to travel frequently.
