Position Summary :Vice President, Development Services is responsible for delivering & growing development services including New Age/ Cutting-edge, digital native technologies for Cigniti. The potential individual must be able to coach and nurture the development practice across the organization. He/She must have strong technical expertise and must be a guiding force for the engineering teams.
Experience :
- Strong leadership experience in delivering cutting edge development technologies
- A seasoned engineering leader with experience managing high performance teams and delivery
- At least 15 years of development experience and overall experience of 20+ years
- Strong experience in agile and extreme accountable and dynamic environment
- Rich experience in various technology stacks including new age technologies such as UI/Angular /RPA
- Business understanding, strategic thinking and the ability to translate into organizational objectives
- Strong track record of successful collaboration with proven ability to influence leadership and cross-functional levels.
- Superior organizational and planning skills, excellent written/verbal presentation and listening skills, and the ability to present complex technical information in concise manner.
- Prior experience leading and mentoring managers of software development teams as well as leading medium to large geographically dispersed teams.
Role and responsibilities:
- Work with senior management and peers from other groups of the organization, to develop practices which lead to the highest quality deliverables
- Present technology vision and roadmaps to a diverse set of corporate leadership and management teams in the organization.
- Oversee the management and deliverables of complex technology programs ensuring time, quality and budget goals are met .
- Create visibility of projects, progress and challenges, within and outside the engineering organization.
- Help set the technical direction for the large software development teams within the organization.
- Collaborate and actively lead development projects solution efforts including estimations, methodologies
- lead and further develop large teams of experienced software developers
- Partner with global teams and project leaders to drive the process/SDLC efficiency and manage operations effective manner.
- Coach direct reports on cultivating and enhancing strong relationships with key customers and colleagues across the globe.
- Lead direct reports and colleagues to proactively develop and implement strategic plans, best practices, process to support strategic business plans
- Maintain high level of engagement and retention to demonstrate value creation ability
- Ensure the team is cohesive and aligned towards the organizational goals
- Continuously improve the processes to advance quality and throughput that are highly measurable.
- Manage the overall health of programs in a range of situations including functioning, customer escalations, and crisis management.
- Challenge solutions proposed by the teams and architects by helping them to grow, learn and foster innovation
- Recruit and hire new talent, swiftly build high performing delivery organization.
