Job Summary:

The Head of Inventory & Stores is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and optimization of inventory, store operations, and supply chain logistics. This role involves overseeing inventory levels, store facilities, personnel, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency while controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

- Develop and execute inventory management strategies to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.

- Implement inventory forecasting, demand planning, and optimization techniques.

- Lead inventory audits, reconciliation efforts, and cycle counting initiatives.

- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory management.

2. Store Operations:

a. Oversee and enhance all aspects of store operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, and inventory rotation.

b. Optimize store layout and organization for efficiency and productivity.

c. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in store management.

3. Supply Chain Optimization:

a. Collaborate with suppliers and other key stakeholders to streamline supply chain processes.

b. Implement efficient procurement and vendor management strategies.

c. Identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks and disruptions.

4. Team Leadership:

a. Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of inventory and store professionals.

b. Set performance goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.

c. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development.

5. Cost Control and Budgeting:

a. Develop and manage the inventory and stores department budget.

b. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control expenses.

c. Monitor and report on budget performance.

6. Data Analysis and Reporting:

a. Generate and analyze reports related to inventory levels, stock movements, and store performance.

b. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive process improvements.

7. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

a. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.

b. Implement and enforce security measures to prevent inventory shrinkage and loss.

Qualifications:

- Substantial experience in inventory management, store operations, and supply chain logistics, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.

- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.

- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management experience.

- Results-oriented with a focus on process improvement and cost control.
