Chief Technology Officer - Educational Games Startup

Our client offers a subscription based service for kids that offers an inquiry and play-based program for early childhood learning at home for children. It is a startup founded by alumni from IIT, IIM and Georgia Tech that is backed by industry veterans and funded by top-tier venture capital firms. We design, develop and deliver activity kits to the homes of the subscribers every month on a subscription basis. The boxes contain all material and instructions for hands-on fun activities that children in the age group of 2-12 years can do with their parents.

The key responsibilities will be as follows:

- Develop the vision and roadmap of the organization's technology strategy. Lead the architecture and execution of it

- Work closely on every part of the product - front end, backend & analytics while you explore the latest technologies as well as product management, multi-threading, people management, and problem solving

- Responsible fordesigning, developing and owning components of a highly scalable, distributed web services platform

- Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web and mobile application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the company's services

- Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.

- Plan and Develop new functionality for our e-commerce website using Magento, PHP, MySQL

- Ensure semaless Integration with third-party applications for shipping, inventory etc

- Troubleshoot issues for scaling of the technology, including server, database, network etc

- Manage front-end development using HTML & CSS

- Work closely with operations & customer service departments to identify problems & resolve them on a periodic basis.

Candidate Profile:

- Proficiency in Magento, PHP with Zend framework, MySQL

- Experience of building and scaling a global product/ e-commerce platform

- Experience in handling Linux servers

- Experience of managing team

- Startup Experience
