Role Description:
As a seasoned and dynamic leader, Head of Engineering will engage with business leaders, Technology team and cross functional teams to create an agile based collaborative and innovative organization capable of using new and emerging technologies. The Head of Engineering will set the overall direction for the company's technology strategy that will support the current and future growth.
Desired Skills:
- A passionate, hands-on and multi-faceted technology and product executive with a unique proven experience combining large scale Products development, product strategy and Research. Demonstrated success in leading all aspects of technology vision, development and execution in a fast-paced environment
- Should have attained exposure of building Technology and Product organizations, Scalable systems, Products, and Processes from scratch, delivering results across rapidly growing Start-ups/large MNCs in both enterprise & consumer space. Proven experience as a team builder with experience building a talent pipeline and retaining them. Highly effective at building relationships with business leaders, employees, cross functional teams and peers
- With proven experience in architecting large scale software systems with complex performance & availability requirements, should have delivered innovative products & solutions across various domains.
- As a leader this person should have built & developed winning teams, including next generation of leaders for the company. Should be deft at engaging decision makers, devising winning strategies/solutions, and managing change within fast-paced, high-pressure environments using experience-backed judgment, strong work-ethics, and irreproachable integrity. Should also have empowering approach that creates culture of innovation and ownership with operational excellence in the team. Should have built and led engineering & product organizations consisting of R&D, QA, Product & Program Management, UX, Data Science, Technical operations, and IT
- Ability to serve beyond technology as the company's change agent, fostering adaptive change and flexibility among members of the company; challenge the established institutional culture and long held paradigms.
- 10+ years of Technology experience with exposure to executive leadership with world-class technology organizations
Preferred: B.E./ B.Tech / Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

Technical Competence
- Practical experience architecting and implementing cloud-based, distributed, service-oriented platforms, with particular emphasis on mobility platforms
- Big data analytics, Large scale internet systems, High Availability Middleware, E-commerce, Text Mining, System software
- Large scale software development, Technology & Architecture, Building engineering & product organizations, Agile methodologies, Research & IP Management, Product Ideation & Product management, Technical operations
- Partnering in identifying opportunities for innovation, technical hurdles and to develop contingency plans to keep projects on track
Leadership and communications - Talent and culture
- Work in a consultative fashion with other business leaders and develop a communications framework that promotes an understanding of strategy, key objectives, and project accomplishments along with a clear understanding of priorities
- Build and retain highly talented technology team and fostering talent development programs that build business acumen, customer centricity, and IT leadership skills
Infrastructure leadership - Operational execution
- Responsible with Operational and Security/Compliance leadership for ensuring security, availability of critical system and network services, and implementing a strategy for disaster recovery and business continuity.
