POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting Relationships :
The CTO will report directly to the CEO and participate on the Leadership team as member of the board of directors. Reporting to the CTO is Technology Development, Quality Assurance, and Product Management.
Experience, Qualifications and Education
We are seeking a self-directed operational leader experienced in SaaS software development bringing high quality products to market.
Prior exposures in fast moving software organizations that have executed successful commercial exits are essential. The role will be responsible to develop and deploy strategies for scaling the operations facing significant growth over the next three years. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to provide leadership, vision and direction to the evolving role of product development.
This person will possess a balanced approach in evaluating and improving systems, processes and resources as they pertain to the operations.
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 10 - 15 years of relevant work experience in software leadership along with a bachelors' degree in computer science, business or an engineering discipline. Having received an MBA or advanced engineering degree will be considered a plus. Personal Traits and

A creative visionary who understands the big picture and can innovate programs and processes that capture the true potential and opportunities that may exist - a "systems thinker".
Possess good process experience/judgment and the ability to recognize key problems before they become major issues. Capable of recognizing opportunities that translate to bottom line improvement.
Customer Centric - demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills with key customers including physicians, nurses, caregivers, health care administrators and informatics professionals.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to scale the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
Motivate and lead a high performance software development team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the development team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the emerging organization.
Experience in working with boards both private and institutional investors.
Other emphasized qualifications include:
Significant software development expertise in a SaaS environment
Experience in scaling a software organization
Well developed leadership and negotiating skills
An in-depth knowledge of software quality assurance
General business operations experience (i.e., Finance)
Strong systems background
Tactical planning skills
Sound working knowledge of value engineering
Experience with regulatory systems including but not limited to patent, trademark and copyright.
