Job Description - Reporting to the CEO the individual will be responsible for both the client and the server side encompassing all development as well as service-side quality assurance. In addition to this, your responsibilities will include:

- Defining the technical requirements for new and existing business services.

- Ensuring the continued scalability of the IT platform by identifying potential bottlenecks at an early stage, refactoring existing features where needed and making sure new features scale horizontally.

- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

- Evaluating and identify appropriate technologies for delivering the company's services.

- Acting as a partner for the product department in assessing the technical feasibility of their product ideas and proposing ideas from a technology perspective.

- Managing and prioritizing all server-side development and assuring on-time delivery.

- Managing the office IT environment Conduct code reviews.

- Monitoring application performance and review application failures.

- Ensuring technical problems are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.

- Defining the development and deployment annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations.

- Supervising recruitment, training, retention and organization of technical staff. Knowledge of Internet protocols, databases (both relational and noSQL) and revision control systems.

The Successful Candidate - The successful candidate will hold a University degree in Computer Science/BE with a total of 12-15 years professional experience. Out of this at least 5 year should have been spent with in a scaling Services business, preferable within a high con-currency environment. You must be familiar with Service Oriented Architectures and have several years hands on experience with Java, PHP and Erlang. You will be familiar with technologies like - Linux, MySOL, Redis, Riak, memcached, Varnish, nginx, HAProxy, Nagios, Mumin and Chef. You will hold excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
