About the Company :

We are attempting to disrupt the natural personal care space by providing customers a differentiated offering of "fresh ayurvedic" personal care products. We use fresh ingredients such as milk, yogurt, pulp/juices of various fruits & vegetables as well as fresh flowers, leaves & herbs to build personal
care products for everyday use.

The founding team has a strong startup experience, is well funded and backed by tier 1 institutional investors.

Role :

Lead the research, development & quality function with competitive new product development, long term fundamental research, existing product enhancements, manufacturing scaleups & high standards of safety & quality.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of scientists, research and quality analysts to build new personal care products as well as improve existing product portfolio

2. Set up long term primary research goals for the company to create differentiated offerings for the consumers

3. Leverage Ayurvedic ingredients, formulations & processes to build products

4. Research on raw materials, properties, grades, behaviour, usage, storage, processing, etc.

5. Conduct claim studies, shelf life & stability studies with the help of external parties assisting in testing & clinical trials.

6. Define testing standards for both finished products as well as raw ingredients

7. Setup formulation steps/approaches to scale the formulations from mid-scale to large-scale production

8. Assist in defining the manufacturing process norms for compliance with government and industry standards

9. Assist Ops team in setting safety and quality standards of manufacturing

Qualifications & Skills :

1. Master's degree in chemistry, cosmetology, or pharma. Post doctorate is preferred.

2. Ideally worked in personal care R&D of a company and has formulated own products via primary research.

3. Experience in formulating natural or Ayurvedic product with good understanding of natural preservatives, stabilisers, emulsifiers, surfactants, etc.

4. Experience across a wide range of personal care products.

5. 8+ years of industry experience

6. 4-5 years experience in large R&D setups

7. Knack for innovation & creative solutioning

8. Data-driven approach to problem solving
