Chief Operating Officer - Warehouse Operations - Contract Logistics & Transportation Business

Looking for Chief Operating Officer-Warehouse Operations for a leading organisation into in the domain of Contract Logistics and Transportation.

Job Purpose

The primary function of this position is to lead the warehouse operations in India and to achieve the organizational vision, mission and objectives. The incumbent would be accountable for Infrastructure, People, Processes & customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To manage upwards of 10 million square feet of current warehousing operations and ability to scale up to 50 million sq feet space in two years- time. Address fulfillment requirements for a wide range of consumer industries including e-commerce companies.

2. Manage productivity of a large workforce (10,000) with the best of human relations climate & aiming for higher productivity standards.

3. Implement the latest of technology & automation - create & implement world class processes.

4. Overall management of temperature controlled warehouses.

5. Optimize process know-how

6. Experience of having processed 100 thousand plus orders in a day from single location.

7. Should have customer service orientation

8. Ability to optimize capex in warehouse

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to CEO

Direct reports include :Head Projects, Head Procurement, Head Solution Designing

Parallel position - CFO, Chief Strategy Officer

Accountabilities:

Delivery of Productivity, maintain service levels to the customer and maintain cost.

Competences : 

- Good understanding of technology

- Experience and expertise in handling large at least 10 million sq feet of warehouse as Operations Head.

- Good people handling experience. Should have handled large teams, of managing at least 5000-10,000 people.

- A strong leader.

Profile (Selection Guidelines): 

BE+MBA with business responsibility from large International Warehousing / Retail / Third Party Logistics group with having managed at least 10 million sq feet of space.

Preferably below 45 years of age.
