Chief Operating Officer - Specialty Chemicals

A Leading Chemical Company in GCC & India with annual revenue of ~$250M. Headquartered in Dubai, UAE.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Report to Managing Directors, ensuring their expectations on plans and performance are met.

2. Oversee daily operations, providing leadership for business growth and formulating expansion strategies across regions.

3. Mentor and manage department heads, nurturing a culture centered on performance and customer satisfaction.

4. Monitor the company's financial health, ensuring compliance with approved budgets, and review financial statements.

5. Be actively involved in major business transactions, financial commitments, and capital expenditures, focusing on maximizing investment returns.

6. Direct all JV activities ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic growth objectives and manage both current and future partnerships.

7. Prioritize Sales, Marketing, and Business Development, aiming to surpass current double-digit growth rates.

8. Implement and streamline operational strategies, ensuring efficient daily plant operations and process developments.

9. Supervise projects, operational facilities, and supply chains while refining systems and processes.

10. Deploy metrics and measurement systems to foster a culture of continuous operational improvement.

11. Champion quality standards, minimize quality-associated costs, and guarantee legal adherence across all regions.

12. Advocate for innovation and uphold high standards of safety, health, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

13. Establish measurement systems for operations, driving continuous operational excellence.

Requirements:

1. Over 18 years of experience in Chemical Industry with at least 5 years in senior/ top management role

2. Strong understanding of global chemical markets with expertise in sales, marketing, supply chain and manufacturing.

3. Chemical Engineering background & MBA from premium institute is preferred but not mandatory.

4. Decisive leader with proven ability to improve business performance, drive growth, enhance shareholder value and nurture talent.

5. Demonstrated skill of organization and business scale up would be considered positively.

6. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills. Persistent and patient in difficult situations.

7. Displays sound judgment and highest ethical standards.

8. Preference for candidates from 45 to 55 years of age.

Compensation:

A highly competitive pay and benefit package (including profit sharing % for exceptional candidates) Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location:

UAE Head Office, Dubai with frequent travel to GCC Region & India
