Chief Operating Officer - NGO

- To lead, implement and drive solutions for business transformation

- To anticipate and identify problems and find effective solutions

- To ensure timely delivery of contracts with the best possible quality, using tools and methodologies that maximize efficient use of resources - human, physical and financial

- To ensure that human resources for programme delivery are planned for and utilized efficiently

- To enable the business to make informed decisions about investment through the accurate reporting of operational performance

- To ensure best practices and learning from projects are scaled-up within the institution

- To develop and implement systems and processes that facilitate large-scale operations and expansion

- To provide insights based on operational performance for strategic decision making

Job Responsibilities :

- Work with the A4e team at the head-quarters and in the states to ensure optimum operational performance.

- Ensure that the Programme Deliverables meet the contractual and business requirements and satisfy the business case.

- Ensure tracking of qualitative and quantitative aspects of programme delivery

- To empower state teams, motivate them and provide the leadership essential for their optimum performance

- Build teams to meet operational requirements and design processes for effective operations

- Manage Key Stakeholders including Customers, Partners and Employers

- Identify and manage operational risks

- Report progress against risk mitigation and contingency planning

- Manage the resolution of operational issues

- Ensure that formal reviews are carried out at appropriate points in the Programme

- Build good working relationships with all key stakeholders.

- At least 10 yrs of experience with at least 7 years in an operational leadership position

- Post-graduate or equivalent

- Experience in Skill development, Agriculture, Micro-Finance or Education would be preferable

- A track record of successfully managing and inspiring a senior team in a complex contractual environment

- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and evaluate detailed information

- Commercially minded, financially astute with experience of using financial systems including budgeting and forecasting to produce high quality documents, correspondence, and reports

- Strong organisation and planning skills and able to demonstrate the ability to priorities high volume workloads

- Confidence to prepare and present information at a senior level both internally & externally

- Tenacious and results driven and with the flexibility to adapt to an ever changing environment

- Experience of managing large scale delivery with a varied customer base

- Comfortable under pressure & committed to continuous improvement (both personal and organisational)

- Understanding of social environment and customer behavior and an ability to use this knowledge to ensure that the customer is at the heart of what we do.
